For many of us buying a home is the biggest
purchase and investment we will ever make.
It has to make sense to protect your home
with proper insurance cover. Often a mortgage
lender will tie you into a building insurance
policy of their own before they will grant
you a mortgage. This is not the only way
to safeguard your propeerty. An independent
household insurance scheme can can provide
just as adequate cover and cost a good deal
less!
Don't worry about underestimating the value
of your property and its contents for insurance
cover. We are highly experienced in this
area and can help you arrive at a correct
valuation.
Also at Adams Wilkinson, we use a computerised
quotation network so we can speedily compare
and select the best deal on the right cover
for you.
Reasons for using Adams Wilkinson
to arrange your policy:

best deal for you.
- Save on your purse.
We can offer the cheapest quotes around.
- Save on your nerves.
With our expertise you can be confident
you'll get the best deal around.
Tips on assessing the right Home Insurance
cover for you:
Buildings - the bricks and mortar.
Your insurance cover
should include the full cost of rebuilding
your home, including all outbuildings and
boundary walls etc. in addition to the main
building. Also please note that fitted bathrooms
and kitchens are classed as part of the
structure of the building and as such must
be included.
We can help you in calculating the full
reinstatement value, but older houses or
those with special features may require
the services of a professional surveyor.
Contents - your furnishings & belongings
Make a comprehensive
survey of your belongings and estimate replacement
values for every item. Include: carpets
and curtains, furniture, electrical equipment,
clothing & bedding etc. Don't forget
the items in your garage or other outbuildings!
Particularly valuable items usually need
to be specifically itemised on the policy,
and an up-to-date valuation provided.
Personal Possessions
- this section of
the policy covers those items that you remove
from the home, such as jewellery, sports
equipment, cameras etc. Again, items which
are of particular value usually need to
be specifically itemised with an up-to-date
valuation. Family
Legal Expenses
- you may wish to
opt for this worthwhile extension to your
household policy. Take for example, if you
have a problem with newly purchased goods
or services, or when you need to resolve
disputes relating to employment or personal
injury this can be an invaluable way of
covering legal costs.
